   If you get a dog …
   If you get a dog strictly on looks, you are going to get what you deserve. Aussies are beautiful dogs (i have a black-tri) but if your lifestyle doesn’t permit the time Aussies demand then you will end up with a 35-60 pound chewing machine that will find something to occupy it’s mind from boredom. An Aussie is NOT a fireplace/lap dog. They are a working dog and potential owners need to be aware of what they are getting into. Aussies are one of the best dogs but like any dog, need good owners.

    we had a 13 year …
    we had a 13 year old blue merle male (named Mick) and while i was away at college, i got a phone call from my sister that Old Man had to be put to sleep. that was easily one of the worst days of my life. i didnt even get to see him before my dad buried him.

    i guess what im saying is that just enjoy the time you have with them.

    I remember when they were that age, I luv them so much but now I have forced myself not to go looking at any other litters coz I always end up wanting one!!!

    there are way too many dogs in rescues to be creating more just becuase they would be adorable. THOUSANDS of unwanted litters.

    What kind of breeder would have puppies put to sleep? I am very happy the vet had the love and compassion to take their care upon him/her self.

    This kind of dog can be born without a tale.
    it’s something in the DNA. Sometimes with tale sometimes without.

    We adopted my Blue …
    We adopted my Blue Merle Aussie, Ciera Tu, about a year ago. The breeders surrendered her because of her little backward L shaped tail.She was about 3 months old. We couldn’t love her any more. She’s perfect and our family name is Lively.

    The Mother had too …
    The Mother had too many puppies to feed, so the breeder took them to the vet to be put to sleep. The vet kept the puppies instead and had raised them.
